Josie...a little too cozy...

Thought I would post a quick pic of Josie looking all cozy in what she believes to be her new "spot". This is the glider in the nursery and from the day it arrived, she must jump up and lay in it as if she is claiming her territory. I'm afraid there won't be enough room for me, the babe, Josie, and Myles.

Finally!

I know I said a few weeks ago that I was going to start on some projects and post them here for all to see but I've had another slow start. It seems that during the day I have all these great plans for sewing that night and getting a few things done...then when evening rolls around, all I want to do is lay on the couch and look for things to make, read blogs, watch TV, or work.

Here are a few stroller blankets I've made. I have tons and tons of fabric but I'm experimenting now and then after bun #1 is here, we'll see which type/size works the best.

Later this week I plan to get my burp cloths done and organize the craft room a little. I promise to post pictures once complete.

Oh, and for those wondering about the progress of when bun #1 will make her appearance? Not anytime soon. At the Dr today, she is still sitting high, 0 dilation, and 50% effaced...same as last Monday.

Cute and Educational

I realize I still need to get to posting some of my baby projects but in the meantime I thought I would share the adorable alphabet print I just bought (from sweet william on etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5956934) for the nursery. I've been so torn on colors and what to hang on the walls in there and I love that this incorporates a ton of great colors.

I feel like sewing...

That's right, I'm back. I'm sure my hundreds of readers (or 5 friends) that checked in on my craft blog from time to time are thrilled by this news! ;-) Back around Christmas when I found out I was pregnant, I had NO desire to do anything crafty AT ALL. After we found out I was baking a little girl, I started sewing a little bit more but nothing too exciting. I'm sure in the coming weeks as we await the arrival of bun #1, I'll be able to post some pictures of all these ideas I have going through my head. Stay tuned...

-30 degrees

Today had to be the coldest day I've ever experienced. Yeah yeah, I know I live in Minneapolis for 4 years and I've had my share of cold days but today was very painful. The wind here makes it worse than MN. It was over -30 degrees with the windchill. The dogs would barely walk after about a minute outside. Even Josie, who loves the cold and the snow had a hard time. After the first trip outside, I decided to break Myles' coat out, which he hates with a passion. So, this isn't craft related but I thought the pictures were cute.

Wrapping and Gift Tags

Every year my Mom has a gift wrapping theme and I usually try to follow...it's fun and I appreciate that kind of thing. This year she is doing all brown craft paper wrapped boxes and using a different colored ribbon for each person. Well, I thought I would use this as an opportunity to use up some pretty Christmas papers I bought at Paper Source and make my own paper wrappers for my brown craft paper wrapped boxes. I think they turned out great!
I also figured now would be a good time to use that Cricut (my dye cutter) that usually just sits on my desk to make some homemade gift tags. They might be my new favorite thing...

While the merry bells keep ringing....

Just a few weeks ago I said that I wasn't really planning on doing any decorating for the holidays. I was feeling overwhelmed with work, Chirstmas shopping, and blah blah blah. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and a couple trips to Joanns and we now have a $40 fake Christmas tree (thank you 50% off) decorated along with a lovely fireplace. I'm now so into it that I've started making handmade gift tags and have a "theme" for my gift wrapping. Here are a few photos...
